Nairobi— Kenya plans to issue a $815 million Eurobond in the second quarter of its 2026/27 fiscal year, according to a Finance Ministry document outlining the government’s borrowing plans.
The fiscal year runs from July 2026 to June 2027.
The government also plans to raise $500 million through Samurai bonds during the third quarter of the fiscal year, the document showed.
The planned borrowing comes as Kenya seeks to manage its financing needs while diversifying its access to international and domestic capital markets.
Kenya’s planned Eurobond and Samurai bond issues highlight the government’s continued reliance on international capital markets to finance its budget and manage public debt obligations. The timing and final terms of the issuances will be closely watched by investors amid changing global borrowing conditions.
